Dr. Ming-Yi Chou BSc, DDS, MS, Cert. Prostho, FRCDC
Dr. Ming-Yi Chou is the principal dentist & owner of the practice.
She completed her prosthodontic specialty training and obtained both a Certificate in Prosthodontics and Master of Science degree in Prosthodontics from the University of North Carolina, USA, in 2009. She was awarded the G. Randolph and Ann Babcock Fellowships for 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 academic years. This additional training focuses on comprehensive planning and treatment involving full mouth rehabilitation, treatment of edentulism, and rehabilitation of the worn dentition. Her specialty training included particular interests in contemporary esthetic dental restorations and dental implant therapy.
Dr. Chou received her degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Western Ontario,Canada, where she graduated with distinction in 2006. She received many scholarships and awards, including the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario Scholarship, Dr. Sam Ioannidis Memorial Award in Operative Dentistry, the Toronto Academy Crown and Bridge Study Club Award and Dr. Walter R. Teteruck Award in Fixed Prosthodontics for exemplifying outstanding clinical performance.
Dr. Chou is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP), the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada (APC) and the Association of Prosthodontists of Ontario (APO). She is a Past President of the APO. She is an examiner for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and the National Dental Examining Board for a number of years. Dr. Chou currently serves as a Board Director and is the Provisional Vice-Chair of the Board for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Furthermore, she is currently the President of the Toronto East Dental Society under the Ontario Dental Association and serves on the General Council for the Ontario Dental Association.
Dr. Chou lectures both locally and internationally, teaches at the Graduate Prosthodontics department at University of Toronto as an associate in dentistry and also at the University of North Carolina as an Adjunct Assistant Professor.
